This job is with an outside provider and involves account management for a book of business that is medium to low in complexity. The person in this role is responsible for the overall provider experience. They do this by working with matrix partners to drive ongoing service improvements, understand, explain, and fix service impacts, and drive the overall strategic planning solutions for providers. This person has the power to make decisions about the Cigna experience within their area of responsibility. They must have knowledge of and visibility in the local market and work to build and improve the relationship between Cigna and the provider.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the end-to-end provider experience and overall service delivery for the assigned Book of Business, which includes all medical lines of business that are medium to low in complexity.
- Leads, works with, and helps shape the direction of the local market to improve the provider experience.
- Makes and keeps track of strategic action plans for each provider
- Identify new opportunities and risks for providers at the market or national level and drive resolution
- Makes decisions and uses good judgment to help the provider experience
- Responsible for gathering, writing down, and sharing market intelligence; use market intelligence to develop and drive strategic improvements
- From the outside, with providers in their BOBs
- Collect, analyze, interpret, translate, and distribute provider information, reports, and dashboards
- Keep track of and keep an eye on performance guarantees for each BOB.
- Helps the Provider Index score go up by serving and supporting the network in a proactive and effective way.
- Providers should look at their own reports and dashboards.
- Providers should be taught about Cigna’s business goals, standard operating procedures, policies, and programs to change their behavior and learn how to work with Cigna.
- Serve as an advocate for the provider both inside and outside the company.
- Knows and uses the principles and methods of service culture
- Serves as an advocate for the provider both inside and outside the company.
- Serves as a consultant or expert on a subject for key matrix partners.
- Makes presentations to current and potential providers and/or clients and takes part in them
- Acts as a spokesperson for CIGNA in the outside community. Represents CIGNA to medical societies and other outside provider groups.
- Manage service joint operating committees, including making agendas, making sure the right people attend meetings, and doing follow-up work.
Requirements:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree is preferred, or work experience that is equivalent.
- 5 or more years of experience in provider relations or health care
- Excellent skills in speaking, writing, working with other people, analyzing, and negotiating.
- Ability to use PC software and several Cigna systems.
- Know about medical insurance products and how they affect providers.
- Able to lead a team of account managers
- Work well in a matrix environment.
