Responsibilities

  • Create a 3- to 12-month vision for the team and a roadmap to support that vision.
  • Work in a small, autonomous, cross-functional team with design, engineering, UX research, and data to decide what we should develop next and to put that decision into action.
  • Speak with our customers to better understand the issues that we can help them with.
  • Write requirements and create wireframes in collaboration with other product team members and designers to develop solutions.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the technical environment in order to make better, faster judgments, and collaborate closely with engineers on solutions.
  • Investigate data to better identify trends and generate a more complete picture of the business, the product, or our customers.
  • Measure and report on the outcomes of your efforts (creating dashboards, writing SQL queries, etc.)
  • Assist clients in having the greatest Scratchpay experience possible. Experiment: this is a startup, therefore anything is possible.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of product management experience is required.
  • Managed software-as-a-service, enterprise, or financial technology products. Experience with patient finance, consumer banking, and/or payment processing products is preferred.
  • Convey your vision to your team and then make it a reality. Collaborate with leadership to refine the team’s vision and create a 12-month plan for resolving difficulties.
  • Understand how to translate your team’s vision into goals, goals into a roadmap, and a roadmap into daily and weekly assignments.
  • Data-driven decision-making. You use data to identify opportunities and choose which levers to pull to achieve corporate objectives. You understand how to measure the outcomes of your work, test it with real users, and comprehend the consequences. You think about the long-term consequences of studies and look for more than just a short-term bump in metrics.
  • Excel at maintaining a productive and efficient cross-functional team of designers, researchers, engineers, data analysts, and product marketers.
  • Understand how to get outcomes. You frequently deliver substantial results for the business through collaboration with your team. You discuss, celebrate, and create momentum around positive outcomes. When you don’t obtain the desired outcomes, you learn and adjust your strategy.
  • You have strong technical, design, and analytical abilities. While you may or may not be able to code, you have technological skills that will help you and your team.
  • You make better, faster judgments and reduce technical debt by leveraging your technical context. You are familiar with design patterns and can produce functional specifications and wireframes.
  • You can support your own decision-making by writing some SQL and using self-service data exploration tools. While you will have expertise in these fields on your team, you can fill up the gaps as needed.
  • You may not know much about APIs, Node.js, Kotlin, or other computer programming languages, but you are eager to learn.
  • You have excellent written communication skills. The majority of the Scratchpay crew is distributed globally, and writing is our primary mode of contact. Written communication can be used to express your team’s vision, roadmap, and progress.
  • Whether it’s managing the day-to-day rhythm of projects or developing cross-company momentum around a project, you know the proper tool for the task.
  • You enjoy getting things done quickly. The job you accomplish at Scratchpay will have a disproportionate impact on the company. We believe in systems and processes that enable us to scale our impact to be greater than the sum of our parts. We also believe in working in small groups. Small teams are quick and agile. Smaller teams offer less bureaucracy, less management, and more productivity. We believe in a friendly, safe, and inclusive atmosphere.
