The Human Resources Manager position at Delta Air Lines, Inc. is in charge of providing human resources field support for a designated client group. For clients across the US, the HR Manager serves as a strategic business partner. The position is in charge of making sure that human resources services are delivered consistently and effectively. These services include management and employee coaching and counseling, sourcing and selection, performance management programs, organizational effectiveness, compensation, and leadership in human resources. This job will be headquartered in JFK and support the airport’s cargo and customer service activities.

  • Along with offering leadership in the areas of organizational development, process consultation, and organizational transformation, this job is also charged with cultivating relationships with individuals, employee groups, and business leaders.
  • The HR Manager’s function is crucial in transferring HR knowledge to management staff, influencing clients in accordance with business policy, emphasizing good employee relations, and ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • The HR Manager frequently assumes the role of project lead or representative for corporate initiatives, overseeing timetables, collaborating with teams from across divisions, and developing both strategic and tactical plans that foster a safety-conscious culture and employee safety and wellbeing.
  • Travel will be necessary for this work.
  • The beginning pay for the HR Manager (JFK) post is $95,680, with a potential compensation range of $119,600.

Requirements:

  • If not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc., the candidate must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by the date of hire, as authorized by applicable law.

  • It is necessary to have 5–10 years of HR manager experience supporting a business unit (or comparable years of experience).
  • The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of all HR disciplines, as well as more specialized HR technical expertise in at least three of them: remuneration, benefits, employment, employee/labor relations, training/development, EEO, and organizational development.
  • Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time, including some overnight trips.
  • Should be able to successfully collaborate across organizational boundaries and at all levels, and should have great oral and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a commanding management presence.
  • Should possess strong platform and presenting abilities, as well as be an effective problem solver.
  • Must be able to function well on their own with little guidance.
  • Be able to lead and influence decision-making, think strategically, and establish and develop strong connections.
  • Must be able to manage many priorities, work under pressure on challenging tasks within predetermined timelines, and achieve goals.
  • Develops both strategic and tactical plans that foster a safe environment and promote the wellbeing of employees.
  • Must be doing a satisfactory job in their current role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, human resources management, or a closely comparable field of study.
  • Certification in PHR/SPHR is desirable. Experience in management or supervision from the past is preferred.
