For a long-term project, Robert Half is looking for contract employees for our client’s data engineering team. To assure the accuracy and consistency of crucial business data across systems, the data engineer will be in charge of creating data integration methods. Also, this position will design and deploy MySQL data warehouses and move data from SQL Server. Excellent knowledge of database, data warehousing, and data migration processes are essential for the position. At this moment, the position will be a long-term contract with core hours in the EST time zones, totally remote, and projected to last 18 months or longer.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science
• Experience dealing with data warehouses for three to five years (SQL Server and MySQL)
• Knowledge of data integration techniques and data warehouse architecture
• 3 to 5 years of expertise using data integration technologies and SSIS-based ETL processes to integrate data between operational databases, the Data Warehouse, and other sources.
• Knowledge of data integration at the expert level and experience with common problems, such as converting data formats, handling errors, and bridging between various technology stacks
• Knowledge of SQL and the ability to work with a variety of database types, including MySQL and SQL Server
• Being able to work alone, take responsibility for the requirements and outputs, and successfully complete solutions
• The capacity to operate in a fast-paced atmosphere and the comfort with taking responsibility for one’s work
• T-SQL knowledge is a plus!
