We are seeking a Principal Data Engineer with experience developing data infrastructure and ETL pipelines. Your contribution will have a significant influence on how businesses use data worldwide, and you will be instrumental in defining and building our technical implementation.
You will collaborate with excellent product managers at Bobsled and have direct interaction with early users to comprehend and support their needs. Together with designing and developing our platform, you’ll also create features, participate in product design reviews, and work on systems, tools, and procedures that span the whole software development lifecycle.
In addition, as an early hire, you will be crucial to developing our culture and team, encouraging teamwork, and evaluating technical applicants.
Responsibilities:
- Create features and implement technical designs in accordance with the product team’s specifications.
- Write code that works in a range of cloud settings and data warehouses, primarily using Typescript. See this session on Bobsled at Typescript London for additional details on how we’re utilizing Typescript.
- Participate in product design evaluations that the product team leads.
- Talk to early adopters one-on-one to learn about their needs and provide support.
- Create the systems, procedures, and tools that make up our software development life cycle.
- Participate in the engineering and corporate cultures.
- Welcome and instruct new members of the engineering team.
Requirements:
- Ten plus years of experience developing software, and five plus years of creating data infrastructure and ETL pipelines (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, RedShift, Databricks)
- solid knowledge of the several types of data loading patterns (batch, streaming, etc.)
- in developing software using tightly typed languages like Go, Scala, Java, or TypeScript
- familiarity with collaborating in a software engineering team
- Knowledge of the notion of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CDKTF)
- Meetings will take place from 16:00–18:00 in the UK, 17:00–19:00 in Central Europe, and 11:00–13:00 in Eastern Time.
- We only hire in Europe, the US East Coast, and the majority of South America.

Restitution
- Pay Range: $160,000-$200K
- incredibly attractive equity compensation
- Payroll tax and employment fees unique to each country may be factored into salaries earned outside of the US.
