The Customer Service Agent talks to customers in a friendly, professional, and polite way.

Responsibilities:

  • Helps with the check-in of passengers and the acceptance of cargo.
  • Translates the rules and requirements of the government for domestic and international travel or cargo shipments.
  • Meets and sends off aircraft at the times that have been set.
  • Helps passengers and customers who are having trouble.
  • guards the company’s property and income.
  • Provides for safe travel.
  • Has the strength and dexterity to use motor skills to do different tasks related to the job.
  • Uses organizational skills to get a lot done in a short amount of time.
  • Is self-motivated and needs little guidance.
  • responds to security and emergency situations and helps out.
  • Follows the rules and policies both inside and outside the company.
  • May have to drive and run air stairs up to different types of planes so that passengers can get on and off.
  • May be asked to do both Tower and Passenger Operation Control tasks, such as communicating from the air to the ground.
  • Depending on where the airport is, this job could be done in different weather.
  • Due to the way flights work, Customer Service Agents work shifts that include weekends, holidays, and sometimes odd or long hours.

Requirements:

Education and previous work experience are the minimum requirements.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent from another country
  • Some places need people who can speak two languages.
  • Local authorities require that you have a valid driver’s license, if applicable.
  • If you want unaccompanied access to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), you have to pass a background check by the FAA.
  • Must be able to get the right security badges from the airport authority and/or US Customs, if needed.
  • Complete a pre-employment drug test, a thorough background check, or fingerprinting to meet company and security needs.
  • Must be able to work in the United States.

Education and previous work experience are the most preferred qualifications.

  • Working knowledge of Sabre or another passenger service system. Previous face-to-face customer service experience.
  • Working in a place where things move quickly
