Position Description:
At Alaska Airlines, the customer service agent is in charge of helping customers with their travel requirements (AS). This individual contributor function responds to guest enquiries and completes numerous responsibilities in the ticketing, check-in, and boarding areas as a member of the passenger service team. This job is union-represented.
Important Responsibilities
- Respond to queries, process tickets, check passengers in, and assist customers with boarding planes in a busy setting.
- Sell tickets and make sure there are cabins available.
- Work on the computer, iPad, and paperwork.
- Plan seat assignments and load, special meal arrangements, and upgrades to evaluate and prepare flights.
- perform gate and boarding tasks (e.g., checking flight tickets, assisting and directing passengers, making announcements, checking aircraft, and confirming cabin security).
- Packing and securing travel bags.
- To guarantee complete guest happiness, you can be tasked with carrying out tasks in a variety of capacities at management’s direction.
- Experience, education, and skills relevant to the job
Required
- six months of experience in either customer service or volunteer work.
- outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities (e.g., verbal, written, listening).
- typing at least 25 words per minute.
- the ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.
- 50 lbs. of push/pull force is required.
- Must have the ability to crouch, squat, reach, and grip.
- Adaptability to working several shifts (e.g., weekends, holidays).
- participation in training that is compensated.
- the capacity to navigate and use a computer reservation system.
- flexibility in executing tasks according to established procedures.
- the capacity to foresee others’ needs in a hectic atmosphere.
- English communication skills.
- equivalent to a high school diploma.
- 18 is the minimum age.
