What you intend to do

  • Assists station management in directing airport staff to give better customer service.
  • Employees who scan, transfer, and sort mail, as well as load and unload mail to and from ground equipment and aircraft, are supervised.
  • Leads and instructs airport staff to accomplish their duties in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to federal, state, and local rules such as DOT, FAA, and other government agencies.
  • Creates and sustains effective relationships with external and internal customers that promote compassion, authenticity, integrity, respect, and dignity.
  • Offers leadership and an adequate support framework, utilizing effective resources, to enable the team to operate well.
  • Encourages a socially responsible and ethical professional culture.

Education and prior job experience are required as minimum qualifications.

  • GED or high school diploma equivalent
  • Education and prior job experience are preferred qualifications.
  • Prior airport customer service experience in leading a team with union/non-union workgroups, previous cargo expertise, prior experience adhering to compliance requirements in highly regulated workplaces, and/or prior vendor management experience are also desirable.

Qualifications, Licenses, and Certifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively as a member of a team Ability to make judgments and operate under stressful operational settings Knowledge and comprehension of corporate regulations and functional automation applications
  • Ability to work beyond hours as operational needs arise
  • Capability to perform alternate shifts on weekends, holidays, and days off
  • Willing to provide a current and valid driver’s license
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Willing to submit to extensive background and/or fingerprint checks in order to meet security requirements, if applicable
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to engage effectively with people at all levels of the business
  • Must be able to receive USPS clearance, which includes a drug test, criminal background, fingerprinting, and a 5-year residency requirement in the United States.
