Position Description:

To support this mission-driven work, the Specialist will collaborate with a team of communications professionals, including project managers, communications experts, the DCG research practice, and graphic designers. Overall, the team assists our government client in its objective to make our country stronger, safer, and more resilient through diverse communications, marketing, design, and research activities.

Prerequisites for the Position:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience supporting communications and marketing campaigns, including federal customers, preferably at a public relations or marketing firm/agency
  • Expertise producing and writing in a number of communication formats and styles, including but not limited to press releases, blogs, presentations, social media, talking points, and fact sheets, as well as the ability to grasp audience tone and voice.
  • Excellent understanding of SEO and web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) for content optimization and website performance monitoring.
  • Content management systems (CMS), HTML, and CSS are all skills that you should have.
  • Ability to work on various projects and meet different deadlines while effectively interacting with internal and external teams
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with clients and build trust and rapport, including careful listening, meaningful questions to better understand their problems, offering solutions, verifying agreed-upon next steps, and defining timelines in accordance with the client’s goals and expectations.
  • Great attention to detail Excellent organizing abilities
  • Capability to operate both alone and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Possessing a positive attitude and a willingness to study the ability to get and keep a Department of Security Clearance for Public Trust
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in client and internal team communications and interactions.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Knowledge and expertise with community-based preventative techniques (e.g., terrorism, public health, violence, etc.)
  • Knowledge of social work, threat assessment, public health, policy analysis, or counterterrorism themes is preferred.
  • DHS clearance for public trust
  • Expertise assisting the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Veteran Affairs, as well as working in the military and/or veteran environment
