Position Description:

Using both qualitative and quantitative research approaches, the Senior UX Researcher at LawnStarter will create research strategies that yield actionable insights. This is a highly collaborative position in which you will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to provide insights that will shape the future of outdoor home servicing. You will develop the product research library by creating research plans, conducting research sessions, and cooperating with UX designers and other teams to convey findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, establishing, and adhering to best practices and processes that can scale as we expand.
  • Design research projects and describe procedures to facilitate company goal alignment.
  • Utilize UX tools to discover and construct our core personas, and employ data and metrics to aid in directing the user experience.
  • Develop a road map for research efforts that highlights future research requirements and product potential.
  • Based on user testing and feedback, update, produce, and edit research material.
  • Assist the design team with reporting project progress. Regularly communicating quantifiable findings and prioritized recommendations.

Requirements

  • At least three years’ experience conducting user research for digital products using techniques such as in-depth user interviews, contextual inquiry, journey mapping, participatory design, and usability testing.
  • A master’s degree or higher in social sciences, humanities, HCI, or a similar subject.
  • Experience directing research during various phases of the product development process, ranging from discovery to delivery.
  • Exceptional design craftsmanship and concern for the user experience.
  • Ability to work with a highly collaborative, cross-functional, and low-ego team, and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup setting.
  • Experience using remote testing tools is preferred.
