Position Description

Optum, a technology-driven healthcare organization that focuses on delivering care for people, is seeking a Customer Service Representative. As a Customer Service Representative, your main responsibility will be to answer and solve issues arising from health care providers. The salary range for this role is between $16.00 to $27.00 USD hourly.

Responsibilities

The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for the following tasks:

– Take incoming phone calls from health care providers (e.g., physician offices, clinics) and identify the type of assistance the provider needs
– Focus on resolving issues on the first call, navigating through complex computer systems to identify the status of the issue, and provide an appropriate response to the caller
– Deliver information and answer questions in a positive manner to develop strong relationships with providers and their staff
– Complete the necessary documentation to track provider issues and facilitate the reporting of overall trends

Qualifications

To qualify for the role, candidates should have the following:

– A high school diploma or GED (or higher) OR equivalent work experience
– Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
– Ability to work any of the 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 8:00 pm EST (shifts will be assigned).
– It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Soft Skills:

– Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport, and respond to customers in a compassionate manner
– Skilled in problem-solving to quickly assess the current state and formulate recommendations

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position that requires the employee to have flexibility working any 8-hour shift schedule between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm EST during business days. As a telecommuting employee, you need to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy and have a dedicated workspace separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
