Position Description:
This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven Engineering Leader to have a significant impact on a growing Engineering department inside a firm positioned to dominate the US marina market. You will drive the development of goods that will make it irresponsible for Marinas not to use our services in order to win the market.
As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at TWG, you will:
- Be regarded as a function-wide engineering leader.
- Take the lead in the roadmap/planning process.
- Serve as a liaison between the company’s strategy and engineering.
- Ascertain that your teams and their work are well linked with the company’s aims.
- Make sure your teams have the resources and personnel they need to fulfill the tasks assigned to them.
- Ensure that all effort across product/design/engineering is known and that each department is held accountable for their role.
- Collaborate with Product and other cross-functional team leaders to guarantee objective achievement.
- Maintain the team’s momentum in project planning.
- Ensure that your teams are set up for success on a continuous basis, while sharing improvement plans and outcomes to executive leadership as appropriate.
- Help your engineers grow and collaborate with your tech lead(s) to uncover opportunities that will help them achieve their goals.
- Protect your teams from unrelated tasks that aren’t part of their principal focus.
- Help your employees make better use of their time by avoiding lengthy, pointless, or confusing interactions.
- Address process gaps to discover the appropriate place for requests if they are not with your teams.
- Provide feedback, both favorable and negative, as soon as possible.
Be a detail leader in our Engineering group, which includes:
- Planning at the departmental level, retrospectives, and team organization
- Individual development plans, technological change implementation, and reporting
- Monitoring and reporting on your engineering teams’ performance
- Project management of programs to improve engineering processes and methods
- Advocating for resources in a proactive manner (including tools and headcount)
- Contributing to the evolution of our people, processes, and culture

- Understand how to use data to demonstrate impact and drive for the generation of data/metrics when none exist.
- Understand that basic work and paying down technological debt are things that demand ongoing attention.
- Understand how to make room for your teams to accomplish their best work, including room for mistakes and experimentation.
- Appreciate leading and learning in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and can achieve the proper blend of stability and flexibility.
