By transforming complex UX strategies into key message ideas, UX principles, and user-friendly experiences, the Senior UX Writer creates unified product experiences at scale. To pinpoint customers’ problems and promote improvements for comprehension, accessibility, and conversion, they use user research and data.
The senior UX writer serves as a mentor to junior writers and as a strategic link between the marketing, technical writing, and design teams to ensure consistency in how all of our digital assets’ user interfaces are represented, discussed, or displayed. The objective of UX writing is to create helpful language that is succinct, clear, and consistent across the customer’s experience with our products.
In the product team, you will serve as a major brand and content point person. You will collaborate closely with UX to influence product development, from copy generation and refining to spotting a typo just before a launch. Your role will also include coordinating with legal, product, UX design, and marketing to ensure consistency across external touchpoints and supporting the development and improvement of the UX writing framework.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with UX to create, test, and iterate UI copy for a range of customer experience contact points and locations.
- Develop copy strings, content flow prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, and interaction specifications with the help of business needs and customer research.
- Establish and maintain content design patterns, frameworks, tone of voice, and standards for UX writing in order to assist teams in managing and prioritizing ideation.
- Own the content lifecycle, advance projects on schedule, and win support and permission from stakeholders by citing usability.
- Create UX authoring frameworks and tools based on user research and brand standards.
- Establish scalable copy standards and encourage adherence to UX writing best practices based on industry norms, internal lessons learned, branding guidelines, research, and data.
- To promote workflow efficiencies and consistency, serve as a liaison between UX design, Product, Legal, and Marketing from a UX copy standpoint.
- Independently solve problems and successfully oversee a large number of complex programs.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of expertise in content design. * A bachelor’s degree.
- Six or more years of experience writing product copy for digital products using UX research and industry best practices (agency or in-house).
- A web-based portfolio of work samples with a UX focus is readily available (including problems you helped solve for, your contributions, and impact to the customer).
- Expertise in developing copy systems, frameworks, and manuals.
- Working knowledge of both web and mobile environments.
- Knowledge of best practices for localization and accessibility while creating information architecture and templated content for large product suites and documentation sets.
- Proven track record of leading initiatives in the areas of online content strategy, content distribution methods, content taxonomy and classification, and/or content user experience.
FAVORABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with remote teams and a worldwide audience. A Master’s degree.
- Prior experience distributing successful, creative consumer goods internationally in a workplace that is highly matrixed and agile.
In Jersey City, the pay range for this position is $137,800 – $186,400/year; however, the basic salary provided may change depending on the knowledge, skills, and experience associated to the work. Depending on the position being offered, the pay package may include a sign-on bonus and restricted stock units in addition to a comprehensive array of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. The Pay Transparency Regulation of the Jersey City Municipal Code requires the provision of this information. Market location determines base wage information. Our pay is in line with the cost of labor in different US regions. In our lowest geographic region, the basic salary for this position is $113,000. In our highest geographic market, it is $211,600. Pay is based on a number of variables, including market location, and may change in accordance with knowledge, abilities, and experience pertinent to the position.
