To manage the integrity team and controlled substance compliance program, Amazon’s Pharmacy Compliance team is looking for a senior manager in controlled substance compliance. The Controlled Substance Sr Manager will have the chance to construct a core component of the compliance team from the ground up in this post, which will include developing and implementing policies as well as business processes for our controlled substance inventory and dispensing. An ideal applicant for this position will be able to establish trusting working relationships with stakeholders while learning the pharmacy industry fast. This person will be in charge of meticulously observing every stage of the controlled substance lifecycle and will possess the courage to spot areas that could use improvement. In order to strengthen and grow our controlled drug processes, a good applicant will think broadly and feel at ease collaborating with Pharmacy Operations, Legal, Loss Prevention, and other stakeholders. To roll out new procedures and successfully monitor successful implementation, the ideal candidate must be detail- and data-oriented. You should have a strong sense of self-motivation, a keen interest in the pharmaceutical industry, and the capacity for both autonomous and teamwork. You will be held to a high standard of compliance and operational excellence as a member of this team as we quickly expand, scale, and innovate to make Amazon Pharmacy the most customer-focused pharmacy on Earth.

Responsibilities:

  • Make a strategic plan for managing controlled substances from beginning to end.
  • Create and manage policies and procedures for controlled substances.
  • Create and implement efficient controlled substance processes in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Follow the procedures of the Prescription Monitoring Programs (PMP)
  • Recognize loss, take responsibility for it, and report it Collaborate with legal and loss prevention on inquiries
  • Create measures to assess and report on the controlled substance compliance program’s efficacy.

What a day looks like

  • Stakeholder teams such as those for Pharmacy Operations, Loss Prevention, Legal, and others should be partnered with.
  • Create, disseminate, and implement strategic initiatives to promote the regulation of restricted substances
  • Controlled substance procedures should be observed for effectiveness and compliance with requirements.
  • Maintain the reporting, guidelines, regulations, and other records pertaining to prohibited substances.
  • Join forces with loss prevention to spot and look into differences.
  • Report metrics related to controlled substances internally

Requirements:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree and three or more years of experience in healthcare operations, loss prevention, or compliance OR a pharmacy degree from an authorized school of pharmacy or compliance experience working for a healthcare business
  • Understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Speaking and writing in business with proficiency
  • Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships
  • A track record of organization and the capacity to balance various, conflicting priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous documentation procedures

Possibility of traveling up to 30%

FAVORABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • A doctorate or a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from a pharmacy school with accreditation
  • Operational experience in pharmacies
  • Loss mitigation expertise
  • Thorough knowledge of the laws governing the pharmacy sector, particularly those pertaining to controlled substances
  • Experience with data analytics and decision-making based on data
  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and speaking
  • An organization and attention to detail
  • A track record of producing results
  • Able to conduct discussions with stakeholders with ease
  • Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships
  • Capable of working without direct supervision and self-motivated
  • A track record of managing conflicting priorities.

The annual basic salary range for this post is between $133,300 and 180,300. Pay varies according to region and the knowledge, abilities, and experience required for the position. Depending on the position being offered, the compensation package may include a sign-on payment, restricted stock units, and a comprehensive array of medical, financial, and/or other perks.
