For all pharmaceutical efforts, the Retail Operations & Immunization Analytics team offers analytics-based strategic suggestions. This has included distributing COVID-19 vaccines, tests, and treatments widely across the country while prioritizing public health, provider safety, and health justice. To maximize these continuing projects and deliver executive reports for corporate leadership and government officials, we continue to set up a powerful analytics engine. A complete analytics platform will be developed across all CVS pharmacies and providers, essential initiatives to optimize vaccines and pharmacy product distribution will be implemented, and customer service levels in stores will be improved.
Modern analytics and data science tools are used by the team to boost the effectiveness and efficiency of our vaccination and retail store operations. Join us as a Senior Data Scientist if you like an entrepreneurial work environment and are a hands-on doer. You will assist in managing and carrying out a portfolio of projects involving forecasting, optimization, and evaluation.
You will act as an inside expert to business teams within our Retail Health division, assisting them in utilizing data to solve pressing issues and create cutting-edge products. Working alongside a group of data scientists, BI developers, and analytics consultants, you will report directly to the Senior Director of Data Science for Immunization and Public Health Analytics. It is possible to operate entirely remotely.
Responsibilities:

Use your expertise in data science and strategic consulting to effectively assume ownership of analytics and research initiatives.
- Work together with corporate partners to comprehend important value drivers, obstacles, and objectives for new goods, as well as the effects these have on public health.
- See possibilities to transform business requirements into data science solutions and produce useful insights to address major issues in pharmacy and healthcare service providing.
- Organize massive structured and unstructured datasets from various company databases, such as data from retail transactions, medical and prescription drug claims, electronic health records, and publicly accessible public health data sources.
- To optimize and evaluate new health programs or interventions, determine analytical approaches, modeling techniques, and performance metrics. Earlier projects have used a variety of solutions using retrospective or prospective data analysis, including classification and targeting approaches, causal inference methods, NLP, and machine learning models.
- To effectively balance business and technical choices, create work plans, schedules, and deliverables for analytics and data science initiatives.
- Deliver modeling findings and suggestions to top stakeholders, relating development to corporate objectives.
- Exchange knowledge between teams to guide cooperative efforts. Create white papers, articles, and conference presentations based on important project findings.
Pay Scale
The usual pay scale for this position is as follows: 90,000 minimum; 180,000 maximum
Please remember that this range represents the salary range for every position in the job grade that this position belongs to. The location is just one of several variables that will be considered when determining the actual compensation offer.
Requirements:
Required credentials
- 2+ years of experience managing analytics and data-driven projects with a track record of generating business value and resolving issues
- 4+ years of experience overall
- 2+ years of expertise with SQL or Spark data extraction
- 2+ years of experience utilizing R or Python for data analysis Proven competence with causal inference, applied statistics, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques
- Experience with data visualization & narrative (e.g. with tools such as Tableau)
Recommended Requirements
- Having experience combining massive data sets from various data sources and analyzing them in a big data setting (such as ADL, Snowflake, DataRobot)
- Experience in the healthcare industry or public health
- Capable of handling healthcare claims data
- Excellent technical communication skills with a focus on corporate, policy, and public health audiences
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject, such as computer science, statistics, economics, or data science.
- Strong preference for an MBA with a quantitative focus or a graduate degree in a quantitative field
