Responsibilities:
- Create and put into practice data engineering solutions (e.g., find and extract data from various sources for use in reporting, analysis, and statistical modeling to spur continuous improvement)
- Create a real-time reporting environment for operations and define and carry out the data engineering roadmap, for example.
- Working together with information technology, improve the database environment for optimum performance and best practices.
- Give the business units of the Delta technical direction.
- Utilize cutting-edge technologies and find effective ways to communicate data and information to meet the demands of the organization.
- Take the helm of complicated project management and process improvement engagements for both intra- and inter-divisional projects.
- In order to establish and sustain connections with internal customers, communicate with business unit leaders.

Requirements:
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM)
- 5+ years of experience in computer science, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or data science
- Consistently prioritizes one’s own and others’ safety and security
- Consistently puts the security and safety of oneself, others, and personal information first.
- Embraces varied people, ideas, and ways of doing things.
- Holds a high school diploma, GED, or other equivalent qualification.
- Possesses legal permission to work in the US and is at least 18 years old.
WHAT (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS) WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, operations research, or a related field is required (a master’s degree is desirable).
- Preferable working knowledge of statistical and machine learning technologies (such as SAS, R, and TensorFlow)
- Preferable working understanding of “Big Data” technologies like Hadoop, NoSQL, MapReduce, etc.
- API Consumption working knowledge is preferred.
- working familiarity with contemporary platforms and development methodologies (Azure, AWS, GCP, Microservices, Web Services (REST), Containers, Cloud Native)
- strong interpersonal, written, and communication abilities
- strong organizational, prioritization, and project management capabilities
- Ability to communicate and work together at all levels with individuals from Operations Analysis & Performance, OCC, cross-divisional working groups, and external entities
- Must be doing a satisfactory job in their current role.
