Position Description

Harley-Davidson Financial Services is seeking an experienced Remote Collections Representative II to join its team. Harley-Davidson Financial Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc. that offers a wide range of financial products and services to motorcycle enthusiasts and Harley-Davidson dealerships. The Collections Representative II is expected to have a dedicated, quiet, and distraction-free workspace and a sufficient internet connection for completing job responsibilities remotely.

Responsibilities

The Collections Representative II is responsible for the collection of delinquent accounts by phone or correspondence and handling complex customer cases that may deviate from standard routines and procedures. Other responsibilities include:

– Assigning accounts to agencies for repossession, skip tracing, or in-person collection activity when approved by the appropriate authority level.
– Assisting with onboarding new employees on processes and procedures.
– Processing and/or assigning accounts to the Adjustment Queue for payment re-allocations and fee/balance waivers, if applicable.
– Adhering to company collection and extension policies, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, TCPA, GLBA, and company confidentiality and privacy issues.
– Handling complex collection customer situations.
– Ensuring that all steps necessary are taken to protect the interest of the company.
– Protecting employee, customer, and corporate information by following established safeguards, including policies regarding data protection, segregation of duties, and access to information based solely on business need.
– Maintaining awareness and understanding of relevant laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and complying with all of them.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

– High School diploma
– At least two years of related experience
– Previous collection experience or customer service experience
– Good communication skills
– Keyboarding/data entry skills with moderate speed and accuracy
– Ability to handle large volumes of collection accounts and inbound customer calls
– Ability to prioritize workflow to meet department objectives
– Proficient with computer systems
– Good problem-solving skills
– Effective negotiation skills
