For Evernorth Care Group in the Phoenix Valley, we are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our busy, patient-centered primary care/adult medicine/pediatric teams. Workdays: Normally, 7:30 a.m. to 430 p.m., Monday through Friday. The location may affect some of the hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Use your organizational abilities to help manage the healthcare requirements of our diverse patient populations and make sure that clinic operations function smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assist with in-office procedures, take vital signs, enter data into patient charts, check prescriptions, and reach out to patients and providers in order to promote ongoing care for patients.
  • Follow all rules and regulations precisely, and only practice within the parameters of your certification or license.
  • Ensure courteous and top-notch customer service throughout all channels of communication.
  • Keep a record of all the assistance and knowledge given to our patients.
  • Call patients back, finish referrals, prepare charts, and manage forms.
  • Provide assistance in addressing queries, worries, and requests, whether in person, over the phone, through our patient portal and electronic health record system.
  • To address the practice’s needs, collaborate with the clinicians, your peers, and the patients.
  • Manage uncertainty appropriately and be aware of proper conflict resolution techniques.
  • Other tasks as they are allocated.

Requirements:

Minimum requirements:

  • Graduate of an MA program that has been granted approval, or a graduate of an unapproved program who has passed the certification exam, or a practicing medical assistant who completed the supervision requirements before February 2, 2000 (the “grandfather clause”).
  • GED certification or a diploma from high school
  • excellent customer service abilities and a strong commitment to provide consumers compassionate, professional care
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and being at ease entering data into our electronic health record system, as well as prior experience working in a healthcare context
  • Certification by BLCS

Preferred credentials:

  • Experience in the outpatient setting for at least a year
  • Spanish and English language proficiency
  • A PEDS background
