Workweeks are not typical because we are open every day of the year. The location may affect some of the hours. 12 hour shifts alternated with 8 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, or 10 hour shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Use your organizational abilities to help manage the healthcare requirements of our diverse patient populations and make sure that clinic operations function smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
- Assist with in-office procedures, take vital signs, enter data into patient charts, check prescriptions, and reach out to patients and providers in order to promote ongoing care for patients.
- Follow all rules and regulations precisely, and only practice within the parameters of your certification or license.
- Ensure courteous and top-notch customer service throughout all channels of communication.
- Keep a record of all the assistance and knowledge given to our patients.
- Call patients back, finish referrals, prepare charts, and manage forms.
- Provide assistance in addressing queries, worries, and requests, whether in person, over the phone, through our patient portal and electronic health record system.
- To address the practice’s needs, collaborate with the clinicians, your peers, and the patients.
- Manage uncertainty appropriately and be aware of proper conflict resolution techniques.
- Other tasks as they are allocated.
Requirements:
Minimum requirements:
- Graduate of an MA program that has been granted approval, or a graduate of an unapproved program who has passed the certification exam, or a practicing medical assistant who completed the supervision requirements before February 2, 2000 (the “grandfather clause”).
- GED certification or a diploma from high school
- Excellent customer service abilities and a strong commitment to provide consumers compassionate, professional care
- Experience with Microsoft Office and being at ease entering data into our electronic health record system, as well as prior experience working in a healthcare context
- Certification by BLCS
Preferred credentials:
- Experience in the outpatient setting for at least a year
- Spanish and English language proficiency
