We are now looking for a strategic business marketing senior advisor who is aligned with Evernorth, the health services business part of Cigna, and who is committed to supporting the company’s core business lines, including myMatrixx, which handles workers’ compensation.
Business-to-business (B2B) marketing strategy, message development, product marketing, and campaign development experience are essential for this position. The ideal applicant will have a track record of working cross-functionally to develop and implement a comprehensive message and a strategic marketing framework that are in line with company objectives and support the expansion of the workers’ compensation industry and customer needs.
To be successful in this position, the candidate needs to be a strong leader with the ability to work in a matrixed, complex environment and be at ease challenging the status quo. They should also be able to use considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment when developing, planning, and executing marketing initiatives. The person in this position will also serve as the ties that bind cross-functional teams together to transform corporate objectives into effective B2B marketing plans.
The candidate will collaborate with a wide range of business partners in account management, marketing, and other cross-functional areas.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, construct, and carry out a strategic marketing plan that is in accordance with the objectives of the myMatrixx line of business in collaboration with leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Work closely with the myMatrixx leadership team to understand the special requirements of the workers’ compensation industry. Together, you will develop and distribute messages and campaigns that will help you drive client acquisition across various buyer segments by converting demand generation into account-based marketing (ABM).
- Charged with creating, directing, and executing the company’s thought leadership strategy through a multi-channel delivery method, including email, digital, white papers, blogs, articles on the company website, and social media campaigns.
- Lead marketing planning and implementation of significant speaking engagements for myMatrixx subject matter experts at events for the workers’ compensation industry, including submission, support for presentation content, and promotion.
- Responsible for collaborating with sales teams to share data and provide marketing insights (from online, social, email campaigns, events/tradeshows, and others) in order to further dialogues with potential clients and to engage with current clients.
- Monitoring the marketing budget specifically for myMatrixx activities.
- Cross-functional/matrix management with a strong ability to persuade, generate accountability, and aid in the accomplishment of business and marketing goals
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in marketing or a related field A master’s degree is ideal.
- 8–10 years’ experience in marketing and business strategy, with direct and business-to-business expertise required.
- Strong modern marketer: able to comprehend marketing strategy and approach, use data and insights to guide strategy and suggested technique, connect business requirement to action, and comprehend how to use digital tactics/channels to carry out marketing plan.
- A benefit is having knowledge of the workers’ compensation market.
- Possessing the ability to create a marketing strategy and approach, use data and insights to guide that strategy and the recommended method, connect company needs to action, and have a working knowledge of how to use digital strategies and channels to carry out that strategy.
- Preferable experience includes ActiveCampaign, Highspot, Marketo, Salesforce, and Drupal.
- Good storyteller with the ability to develop clear, unique messages and implement marketing strategies.
- It is a requirement of the role to write and edit communications and collateral that is aimed at the market.
- Ability to execute tasks to support the priorities of the marketing, sales, and account teams while also being able to lead at the top of your license.
- Ability to function well in a team-based, dynamic environment that is undergoing fast change while supporting a variety of buyers in the workers’ compensation industry.
- Thinks critically and creatively, prioritizes, and can strike a balance between demands and business goals. Uses strong judgment when handling challenging situations.
- Ability to balance several, perhaps conflicting, priorities and requirements while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Prior knowledge of briefing and working with internal or external creative teams.

- Occasionally, travel is necessary (less than 10%).
