Position Description:

You will be a member of a team that, under the direction of the Director of Global Events, will provide suggestions to senior leadership on how to use event experiences to innovate and align our company’s core values and communications. A successful events manager will establish metrics and use useful data to increase event effectiveness, forge close bonds with stakeholders, be adaptable while maintaining composure, listen carefully and identify needs, bring creativity and have the ability to solve problems quickly, maintain organization, and communicate politely and effectively.

How to prepare

  • Planning: Assist in the design of live and recorded first-party and third-party events with a focus on results that optimize profit.
  • Create an event strategy for each event that involves the overall experience design, content proposal, branding, and communications by working with and understanding the business environment.
  • Manage the daily planning and execution of client-facing events, industry conferences, and trade exhibitions, including participant management and pre- and post-event communications.
  • Develop strategies utilizing current content and access to industry groups in collaboration with the Product Marketing, Communication, and Content teams to promote events and tradeshows.
  • Plan, coordinate, and carry out as necessary any internal corporate events or other auxiliary activities.
  • Communication: Ensure that the events program is consistently and clearly communicated to all stakeholders, including internal briefing materials for specific conferences and events.
  • Take the initiative to assess and report ROI for each event.
  • Organize and carry out events beginning with the concept phase and continuing with vendor negotiations, scheduling, registration, and on-site execution.
  • Event systems administrators are in charge of effectively setting up, configuring, running, and maintaining event systems.
  • Maintain vendor connections while negotiating and carrying out contracts for events of all sizes. To keep the best possible connection with vendors, this also entails working together with promotional and print vendors.
  • For upcoming hybrid events, find new locations and/or venues.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 8+ years’ experience in B2B tech marketing with event planning while working with a marketing team from the content and media departments, as well as exhibiting operational and logistical competence in a marketing/corporate events capacity, for onsite, virtual, and hybrid forms
  • understanding of registration platforms, virtual event platforms, and programs like Cvent, Salesforce, and Hopin.
  • Excellent project management and collaboration skills across organizations and functional boundaries. For each event, the ideal applicant will be in charge of several work streams, including promotion, production, venue, and attendee experience.
  • Using storytelling to sell concepts and having a growth mentality to constantly uncover, share, and use insights to improve experiences
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) across a field and marketing organization, interpersonal, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills are necessary. Ability to create and drive event criteria or standards across several functional areas, with a focus on our sales force.
  • Detail-oriented, team-oriented, and capable of setting priorities
  • Skills in budget management to plan, coordinate, and analyze event spending with internal teams and vendors
  • competent to adapt under pressure and meet short deadlines
  • Must be a strong, self-driven, independent leader who can take charge of the course of events with little guidance.
  • ability to travel between 10% and 15% of the time.
