    The setup of the aircraft and major assembly’ permitted configuration, as well as keeping track of aircraft maintenance records in source systems, fall under this responsibility. Responsibilities:

  • Takes part in managing a technical team that makes tactical and strategic decisions to assist the airline’s operations.

  • Oversees the group’s overall performance.
  • Supports the organization’s strategic direction and oversees the means of achieving it.
  • Manages the group’s budget that has been set up.
  • Acts as a culture leader who fosters trust throughout the company
  • Oversees the TechOps system’s new setups for timeliness and accuracy. (SCEPTRE)
  • Evaluates and projects the necessary resources (financial and human) to meet the infrastructure requirements and goals of aircraft configuration management and control.
  • Keeps up departmental internal self-audit processes to make sure that procedures continue to adhere to AA standards
  • Maintains an Aircraft Configuration Management and Control continuous improvement program, and collaborates across departments to address process flow problems.
  • Maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge and enhance performance
  • Periodic travel is necessary

Requirements:

Minimum requirements include education and previous work experience.

  • A minimum of five years of aviation experience in the field of aircraft maintenance, specifically in the areas of quality assurance, maintenance, or records, or a
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related subject of study to aviation.
  • 5 years of managerial experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Education and Work History
  • Three years of leadership experience
  • Having led an organization in several different locales
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AA policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of budgeting
  • Lean/Six Sigma (LSS) accreditation requires STC, SAP, and SCEPTRE Yellow certification from a reputable provider.

Knowledge, Permits, and Certifications

  • Having familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Working familiarity with the principles of Lean/Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of project management methods
  • Strong organizing, planning, and delegating skills are also necessary, as are analytical and problem-solving abilities and a high level of attention to detail.
  • The capacity to multitask and quickly react to changing priorities
  • Individual with great business sense, technical expertise, and the drive and aptitude to significantly contribute to the AA organization
  • Understanding of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs)
