Position Description:

In order to provide the best execution in terms of cost, quality, and delivery for a given tender or project, the logistics specialist will ensure that all internal units and external suppliers engaged in the tender or project will be successfully managed. A logistics specialist’s duties include direct administration of logistics service providers working on projects, including the execution of big and complicated projects. Project Managers, Procurement and Logistics Managers, Project Sourcing, Quality, Tendering, Engineering, Finance, Project Control Internal/External Vendors, Site Management, and Construction are just a few of the stakeholders this job directly collaborates with.

You will: in this position:

  • To optimize transportation cycles and costs, develop handling plans, transport plans, and risk analyses that take EHS into account.
  • Prepare/issue bids and complete bid comparisons in accordance with the tender and execution timeline for air, sea, rail, and road transportation.
  • Establishes adequate transportation plans for the delivery of materials and documentation for projects and tenders in close coordination with project planning
  • supports the sourcing scope’s ability to compete effectively in bids to win orders.
  • maximizes consolidation and makes sure that product shipping from both internal and external suppliers is perfectly coordinated for a particular project.
  • drives all logistics activities throughout the project execution process in order to maximize deflation and guarantee project completion on schedule.
  • suppliers of expedited logistics to guarantee timely delivery of supplies and technical/shipping documentation
  • collaborates with GE’s regional customs team to plan all imports and exports.
  • prioritizes work across several projects in collaboration with internal and external suppliers.
  • Ensures that the project commitments of On Time Delivery, Quality, and Cost are met for the products handled by HVDC CoE.
  • For all large and complex projects worldwide, own logistics processes are used. Keep and use these procedures.
  • processing claims on behalf of the logistics suppliers, carefully coordinating with contract management
  • Work together with the global process and tools leader to implement processes, tools, and KPI reporting in the COE.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • a logistics degree or comparable work experience
  • 8–10 years of project logistics management expertise
  • 8–10 years of project management and leadership experience, with in-depth understanding of supply networks
