The Enterprise Data & Machine Learning team is home to this role. The EDML team focuses on the design and development of data and machine learning platforms with the goal of increasing the effectiveness and productivity of thousands of other data scientists and engineers across the business. This foundation will enable hundreds of millions of member and customer touchpoints that are ML enabled. With the potential to become a new internal standard, an OSS project, or a differentiating intellectual asset, our work is ambitious and far-reaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the whole data platform’s documentation’s organization, quality, structure, and usefulness. makes certain that documentation is comprehensible, straightforward, and useful.
  • Writes platform documentation that is sufficiently detailed for our important stakeholders, such as data scientists, data engineers, and application developers.
  • Aids in establishing publishing guidelines and procedures for all documentation creators inside the data platform ecosystem.
  • To complete the documentation for data platforms and data products, a staff of technical writers must be hired, trained, and managed.
  • Uses a set of style, grammar, and punctuation standards that are consistent.
  • Oversees the specifications for the technical diagrams and pictures that are used in the documentation for data platforms and data products.
  • Develops and manages a platform and data product documentation review process.
  • Participates in data platform training initiatives that create minimal requirements for documentation and metadata for data released on the platform.
  • Organizes information and completes tasks that call for adherence to a set of organizational, structural, clarity, conciseness, and terminology standards.

Pay Scale

The usual pay scale for this position is as follows:

  • Lowest: 95,000
  • Up to 209,000

Please remember that this range represents the salary range for every position in the job grade that this position belongs to. The location is just one of several variables that will be considered when determining the actual compensation offer.

Requirements:

Required credentials

  • Six (6) or more years’ worth of experience in technical writing.
  • Excellent mastery of the English language, including punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to read independently, interview professionals and subject matter experts, observe tests and experiments, understand diagrams, or use other relevant ways to gather and deliver Technical information.
  • The capacity to modify publications and writing for a certain audience or specialized field.

Preferred Requirements

  • A track record of documenting software libraries, data sets, and APIs.
  • Working on contemporary platform docs with evidence.
  • Experience with IT modernization programs, big data, and analytics.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree is necessary.
  • Preferred is a graduate degree.
  • Candidates with degrees and certifications in subjects linked to agile, technical writing, product management, data, and analytics are given preference.
