The Lucasfilm Video Assets group serves as the focal point for all Franchise video content, which includes all of the motion pictures, television programs, documentaries, behind-the-scenes videos, daily updates, and legacy material. Around a million minutes of footage are archived, curated, and managed by the team, which collaborates across the organization to offer exclusive resources for new creative ideas, productions, and content. The team uses cutting-edge technology as the industry develops to guarantee that the company’s extensive video archive is preserved in the best possible condition and is always available.

Responsibilities:

  • Projects include supporting the intake of video assets, database building, metadata tracking, and operational support for the team in charge of video asset management.
  • Transcode and bring in fresh video resources
  • Observe, gather, and record information
  • Keep your asset management databases and tracking systems’ metadata entries accurate.
  • Archiving camera original sources entails understanding contemporary file codecs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or a comparable qualification
  • Powerful planning and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of Avid Media Composer or a comparable non-linear editing program
  • Recording video material and entering metadata context
  • Knowing different camera types, formats, and codecs
  • Knowledge of different database tools, such as FileMaker Pro
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mac, Google Suite, etc.
  • Self-motivated, meticulous, and a problem solver with a desire to contribute to an environment that fosters creativity in a special way.

Necessary education

A graduate degree in library science, film/TV production, or the arts

This internship in California is paid at a rate of $29.80 per hour.

Further Details:

  • Must have graduated from a college or university within six months OR must be presently enrolled in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship OR must have at least one class taken in the semester or quarter (spring/fall) previous to participation in the internship program.
  • Age requirement is at least 18 years old.
  • Must not have worked on a Disney internship or program for more than a year straight. ​
  • A valid work permit with no restrictions
  • This internship is remote. Both a functional, dependable internet connection and a quiet, assigned workspace are necessary for the internship.
