A skilled storyteller who can cover breaking and ongoing news alongside reporters and other production personnel is required of the Midwest Field Producer.

Pitching, developing, and producing tales for both broadcast and digital media are among the responsibilities, with an emphasis on original and imaginative visual storytelling.

Candidates must to have at least five years of network news experience. Candidates should have substantial expertise in reporting and producing, good editorial skills, field resourcefulness, and cutting-edge news collecting tools.

Candidates will be required to work a range of shifts and travel on short notice for lengthy periods of time. In Ohio, this position will be located.

Responsibilities:

• Creating, submitting, and carrying out creative enterprise and day of news story concepts for internet and television.
• Create appealing packages for the network by working with editors, photojournalists, guest bookers, and show and segment producers.
• Produce live segments from remote network locations, studios, or the field.
• Overseeing and managing the creation of reporter packages, including idea generation, story research, news collecting, writing, and post-production, from conception to delivery.
• Scripts are written, reviewed, and carried to approval with varied levels of reporter involvement.
• writing supplementary narratives for the internet.
• Using knowledge of field producing, conducting in-person and online interviews, generating and approving graphics for research, and other postproduction components.

Requirements:

Basic requirements:

• Experience producing live segments from remote network sites, whether in the field, the studio, or both
• Powerful verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Outstanding news judgment, critical and strategic thinking, organizational abilities, the capacity to be relentless while remaining diplomatic, a commitment to honesty and integrity in reporting, and these qualities are required for the position.
• Strong understanding of news collection, including social media and a variety of broadcast formats.
• Develop and maintain sources for original reporting and sourcing consistently.
• Must be adaptable, able to handle demanding workloads, and willing to travel when necessary.

Preferred credentials:

Having worked for a significant television news organization for at least five years.

Necessary education:

A validated bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent in years of experience.

The salary range for this remote position, which takes into account different geographic zones, is $ 90,000 to $120,000 per year. Internal equity will be taken into consideration when determining the basic pay that is actually offered, and it may also change based on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, abilities, and experience, among other things. Depending on the level and job offered, the remuneration package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units in addition to the complete range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
