This is a paid 10-week internship that will begin in the summer of 2023.
Amazon is looking for innovative and problem-solving Engineering Interns to join our North America initiative to develop and deliver next-generation, world-class fulfillment systems.
What exactly is fulfillment, you ask? Fulfillment refers to the act of completing or fulfilling an Amazon.com order and the acts of picking, packing, shipping, and delivering the order to meet or exceed the customer’s expectations!

Concerning the Program:
- The position will be located in a Fulfillment Center, Sort Center, Delivery Station, or other warehouse environment and is NOT a corporate role.
- This job will be in a construction and job trailer setting.
- During the summer term, 50-75% travel may be required to support Amazon’s installation sites across North America. Due to the remote nature of many internship locations, a driver’s license is required.
Responsibilities:
- Promote resolution for an intern project by owning and digging deep for data to back up a recommendation.
- Assist Amazon’s NAFC Project Engineering Team in designing, building, improving, and innovating order fulfillment infrastructure throughout the large-scale supply chain network. -Support management, design, and implementation of medium scope integrated automation projects with system elements such as high speed sortation, multiple conveyors, package lines, and/or robotic work cells.
- Guide and coordinate design and execution efforts among internal teams and external vendors, including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout –
- Budget and contract document development and management, including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing –
- Direct system commissioning and predefined testing activities, including plan administration, status interpretation, and result reporting –
- Coordination with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance, and safety practices for new/existing equipment -Thoroughly document/investigate FC change requests and provide recommendations
- -Inspect facilities for material handling, processing, and storage in accordance with corporate standards and procedures.
- Carry out the following task, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- o Stand/walk for a maximum of 12 hours
- o Safely access building areas by ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways -Work weekends, holidays, and/or overnight shifts and overtime as needed
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with a planned graduation date between December 2023 and August 2024.
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
DESIRED QUALIFICATION
- Experience with the implementation of integrated automation solutions, such as complex material handling systems, high speed packaging lines, and manufacturing lines.
- Experience with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing efforts, transportation/logistics, and/or fulfillment/distribution centers -Highly proficient CAD skills; capable of developing an integrated automation layout without assistance -Experience with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Project, and Outlook
For jobs in Colorado: The starting salary for this position in Colorado is $26.81/hr. Relocation assistance may be included as part of the compensation package.
