We are searching for a driven marketing data scientist leader to join the Spotify Creator Marketing team. This team’s mission is to support artists by giving them the best tools possible to make music, grow an audience, monetize their listeners, and ultimately support themselves financially.
More than a million musicians use Spotify for Artists each month to gain insights, expand their audience, and strengthen their relationship with their fans. As a part of the Creator Marketing group, we want to invest in marketing data science, and we’re searching for a strong leader to develop this expertise.
We are searching for a skilled marketing data scientist who can collaborate with the global head of Creator Marketing and the executive team to produce insightful data and contribute to the development of the organization’s strategy. Also, you will be the driving force behind some of Spotify’s most effective creator-focused marketing initiatives, such as the international franchises Spotify Artist Wrapped and Fan Survey. Last but not least, you’ll be in charge of building the data architecture necessary to support our long-term marketing vision while also measuring marketing impact, attribution, and incremental testing.
You will answer to the Chief of Creator Marketing in this position. Also, you will be a part of a larger community of more than 40 data scientists and researchers who are developing products for creators. For our organization, this is an important position. Perfect data skills, the ability to collaborate with marketing managers and engineers, and preferably a love of music are all qualities that the perfect applicant will possess.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional groups of marketing managers, data scientists, and the larger R&D company who are committed to fostering the success of artists.
- Provide data stories to fuel the most effective data storytelling initiatives on Spotify for Artists, like Artist Wrapped and Fan Study.
- In close collaboration with the leadership team for creator marketing, use data insights to guide Spotify’s worldwide creator marketing strategy.
- Create metrics and marketing attribution models to help us iterate and better understand the impact.
- Provide data-driven case studies that can be leveraged across marketing touchpoints to demonstrate the impact of our products and services and to engage customers.
- Create and maintain dashboards to aid in the wider Creator Marketing organization’s use of data-driven decision-making.
Requirements:
- 8+ years’ experience utilizing data to fuel marketing campaigns
- Experience developing performance measures, performing power analyses, calculating statistical significance, and delivering actionable insights with obvious recommendations or implications. You’ve worked with marketing mix modeling, causal inference, or marketing attribution models.
- Having knowledge of data modeling and engineering, including building reliable pipelines to pull data from internal and external APIs and huge databases.
- You are knowledgeable about marketing, including channels, SEM, social media measurement, and the distinction between paid and unpaid channels.
- You are competent at finding solutions to ill-defined issues and converting abstract concepts into useable applications for a variety of audiences.
- Because of your skill as a compelling storyteller, you can persuade audiences with a variety of data science backgrounds to choose a particular product or feature.

The salary range for this position in the United States is from $134,236 to $191,765, plus equity. Health insurance, a six-month paid parental leave, a 401(k) retirement plan, a monthly lunch allowance, 23 paid days off, and 13 paid flexible holidays are among the benefits offered for this work. Future changes to these ranges are possible.
