For Wellpartner, this position as a data engineer involves all parts of data import and export. They are in charge of making sure that information obtained from outside sources—like our Covered Entity and Contract Pharmacy partners, as well as drug wholesalers—is successfully ingested and accessible for processing in our transactional system. They also have to make sure that file extracts for outside business partners are created and delivered in accordance with the predetermined timeline. The data engineer should be an expert in T-SQL, SSIS, and C#, with those skills being advantages.
Responsibilities:
- Helping as a member of the group that will collaborate with business analysts to collect and approve technical needs while keeping the impact of other associated SP in mind.
- Analyze data/process issues brought up by external or internal partners, and decide whether potential process fixes are required, using problem-solving abilities.
- Identify any places where industry standards for best practices are not being followed.
- keep an eye on how the procedure is performing.
- Deliver development projects that are performance-focused and the consequence of performance monitoring.
- Through the creation and upkeep of technical documentation, Wellpartner data processes and methods are shared.
- Assist other internal users by serving as a guide who can provide a direct interface to production systems, running scripts, implementing data fixes in the absence of user tools, etc.
- Determine the places where user tools can be improved to create more operational functionality and assign tasks to collaborators.
Requirements:
Required credentials
- 4–7+ years’ cumulative experience in the majority of the following
- Creating and teaching people how to use processes for ingesting raw data in various EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) formats, such as flat files, Excel, X12, XML, HL7, and JSON, from more than 1400 external partners.
- Validate data and check for errors using techniques like T-SQL and SSIS, among others, to guarantee data quality.
- Analyze processes to find potential for increased productivity, process flaws, and performance improvement areas.
- Make certain that all development projects are subjected to unit testing.
- Make sure projects are acceptance tested before being released to production by working with QA.
- Identify any places where industry standards for best practices are not being followed.
- Keep up with SQL Agent jobs.
- Investigate failed SQL Agent jobs while coordinating with impacted teams to ensure resolution.
- Analyze data/process issues brought up by external or internal partners, and decide whether potential process fixes are required, using problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience and knowledge of workflow approaches.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is strongly advised.
- Experience in healthcare or similar fields of 2 to 4 years is preferred.
- Preferably, you have programming experience in C#.
Education: the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in your field of work.
