As a Data Engineer at PepsiCo, you will be a key technical expert responsible for developing and overseeing data product build and operations. You will work with a team of data engineers to build data pipelines, manage data quality, and enable data access for various analytics, visualization, machine learning, and product development efforts. Your role will directly impact the design, architecture, and implementation of data products related to revenue management, supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics. This position involves collaboration with internal stakeholders and working in a hybrid environment with on-premise and cloud data sources.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to code development in projects and services.
  • Manage and scale data pipelines from internal and external sources to support new product launches and maintain data quality.
  • Build and own automation and monitoring frameworks for data pipeline quality and performance.
  • Implement best practices for systems integration, security, performance, and data management.
  • Collaborate with internal clients (data science and product teams) to drive solutioning and POC discussions.
  • Evolve the architectural capabilities of the data platform by engaging with enterprise architects and partners.
  • Define and manage SLAs for data products and processes in production.
  • Support data scientists in large-scale experimentation.
  • Prototype new approaches and solutions at scale.
  • Conduct research on state-of-the-art methodologies and document learnings.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related technical fields.
  • 6+ years of overall technology experience, including 4+ years of hands-on software development and data engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience with Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in SQL optimization and programming languages like Python, PySpark, Scala, etc.
  • 2+ years of cloud data engineering experience in Azure.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Familiarity with data profiling and data quality tools.
  • Experience with cloud services, MPP databases, containerization, and version control systems.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Machine Learning tools is a plus.
  • Experience with Statistical/ML techniques and retail/supply chain solutions is a plus.
  • Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data glossaries is a plus.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools like PowerBI.
