Responsibilities:
In collaboration with several hospital partners, our MBSAQIP abstractors:
- Utilize hospital partners’ specialized clinical knowledge to classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case information from complex patient medical records.
- Maintain a high accuracy threshold and make sure that all data is sent in a quality manner to the designated registries or measure data repositories.
- Organize, prioritize, and fulfill deadlines for several ongoing projects and team demands; use discretion and subtlety to control expectations, identify roadblocks, and quickly offer solutions.
- Use team resources to diagnose technical difficulties with systems and applications with an emphasis on solutions. Navigate new technical systems, such as electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools.
- Contribute to abstraction guidelines, data dictionaries, team best practices, and other business rule documents; finds possibilities for process improvement to help organize work and procedures.
- Stays informed on legally required and publicly disclosed data requirements set out by federal, state, payer, and other entities.

Requirements:
Essential Requirements:
- Must have one year’s worth of direct experience abstracting clinical data.
- Hold a current certification for MBSCR.
- Exposure to various healthcare databases and patient record systems (EMRs).
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel).
- To be considered for employment at Q-Centrix, candidates must be legally able to work in the United States, either now or in the future, without the need for sponsorship.
Desired Requirements:
- Firsthand clinical encounters.
- Qualifications as an RT, LPN, RN, or RCIS.
