Interact with clients and the sales organization of US Foods in a professional manner to provide great customer service. Support the carrying out of administrative and high volume transactional tasks. Communicate clearly with customers, sellers, and internal departments and roles including merchandising, operations, credit, transportation, and routing, among others.

According to the role segmentation, this position has been classified as a hybrid, which means that the work will be split roughly 90 percent remotely or virtually and 10 percent physically onsite at any regional location.

Depending on region and expertise, this position typically pays between $19 and $20 per hour, and it might also involve working on Sundays.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for performing a number of administrative tasks to accurately and quickly service buyers and sellers. Operate within set parameters to fulfill the service agreement’s goals in accordance with client expectations, corporate policy, and profit and quality standards. Whenever required, escalate problems to the proper parties to guarantee a just conclusion.

Daily Activities 80%

Concentrate on completing high-volume customer support transactions promptly and accurately, including but not limited to:

  • Handling service requests
  • Shared email box priority
  • Help in covering the Seller’s vacation
  • Further data entry or administrative tasks as needed
  • Respond to incoming and outgoing calls as required to backup the help queue.

Continually achieve or surpass key performance criteria for effectiveness and quality while embodying US Foods’ cultural values.

  • Enter and keep up-to-date customer data in the CRM system (contact information, preferences, Service Requests, inquiries, complaints, comments, action taken, etc.).
  • Responses to requests should be prompt and accurate, and vendors should make every effort to fix problems the first time.
  • As needed, escalate questions to the proper departments (Operations, Category Management, Finance, Replenishment, etc.).
  • Keep control of every correspondence that results from escalated questions.}

20% Sales Support

  • Tracking and processing of special orders
  • Examples of order tracking and processing
  • As required, assist in carrying out more general sales-related efforts for the service queue.
  • Engage in meaningful dialogue with leadership and actively engage in the development of personal development plans.

Supervision: without direct reports

Relationships

  • Internal: Shared Business services, operations, and the sales organization
  • Clients and suppliers of US Foods

Requirements:

Education/Training:

  • GED, high school diploma, or a mix of education and experience that would suffice.

Corresponding expertise

  • Required: One (1) year of applicable customer service or support experience. Distribution of food services prior experience is preferred.
  • Working virtually experience is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Good communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
  • Being able to professionally assist callers
  • Strong organizing and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • The capacity to set priorities, adhere to deadlines, and fulfill responsibilities
  • Moderate computer skills, such as the ability to enter data and create simple letters. Previous experience with phone systems or CRM technologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of US Foods’ proprietary systems, including Demand Communication Tool (DCT), SODS, CDMR, Tandem, SMOI, and Salesforce.com (SOUS).
  • Outlook and the Microsoft Office suite should be mastered.
  • Team player who works well in a group.

In compliance with specific federal, state, and local laws, the following information is made available. Experience, geographic location, and other legal considerations all affect compensation. In California, this position should earn between $19.00 and $21.00 per hour in wages. In Washington, the hourly wage for this position is anticipated to be between $19.00 and $21.00. Moreover, overtime pay is available for this position.
