Position Description:

To provide tools, resources, and settings that support safe, effective, healthy behaviors and encourage staff members to actively manage their health and wellbeing is one focus area of the Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) objective. Amazon is looking for a knowledgeable and creative Injury Prevention Specialist to join our team in order to assist this key area. As a member of the onsite Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Team, you will direct both proactive and injury prevention initiatives in this job. The Site WHS Manager will be the primary supervisor of this role, which will be located in an Amazon Fulfillment Facility.

The Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS) would be expected to conduct biomechanical evaluations, direct injury prevention initiatives, and proactively analyze jobs for potential ergonomic risk factors. Proactive safety, job coaching, ergonomic training, and one-on-one interactions with Associates are all promoted by the IPS. The IPS aims to enhance technique before pain or damage develops. The following are only a few examples of responsibilities: – Reduce the risk of ergonomic damage to employees by awareness, education, and early intervention

  • Go deep into learning every job function inside the FC and comprehend the body ergonomic and physical demands of each task.
  • Participate actively in changes to the regular work process, assessing any potential for poor ergonomics through change management procedures.
  • Determine patterns, analyze all soft tissue injuries, and devise risk-reduction strategies.
    Assist site leadership in the adoption and administration of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Job Rotation policies through regular interactions with both associates and operational leaders.
  • Work together with the local medical staff to establish treatment strategies for first aid cases according to the type of injury.
  • Must keep up with all first aid certifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Be certified as an athletic trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) or a state certification that is comparable.
  • Must possess a current card from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross proving successful completion of a First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
  • A bachelor’s degree – Expertise in digital recordkeeping and Microsoft Office
