Position Description:

You will work with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to our customers as a Customer Engineer. You will assist new and existing customers and partners in comprehending the power of Google Cloud, developing innovative cloud solutions and architectures to address their business concerns, and resolving any potential impediments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to find and qualify business prospects, identify critical customer technical objections, and design a strategy to overcome technical stumbling blocks.
  • Manage Google’s technical relationships with its customers (e.g., managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources).
  • Demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer and partner environments in collaboration with customers.
  • Prepare and deliver product messaging to showcase the value proposition of the Google Cloud Platform, using approaches such as presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, and request for information answer documents.
  • Travel to customer locations, conferences, and other events

Minimum requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science is required, as well as relevant practical experience.
  • Experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent customer-facing experience is required.
  • Experience with cloud computing (for example, the cloud industry) and giving technical presentations.
  • Extensive knowledge of analytic warehousing systems, “Big Data” technology, real-time streaming, and performance and scalability optimizations.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical subject is preferred.
  • Experience in technical sales in the fields of cloud computing, data, information lifecycle management, and Big Data.
  • Experience developing code in popular programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, Scala, R, or Go.
  • Experience creating solutions for data warehousing, data lakes, batch or real-time event processing, and exact transform and load (ETL) workflows (i.e., Informatica, Talend, Alooma, SAP, Data Services).
  • Knowledge of Linux and the ability to address domain name systems, TCP/IP, firewalls, proxy servers, load balancing, virtual private networks, and virtual private clouds are required.
