For one of our animated series, Marvel Studios Animation needs to hire a compositor. This person will be in charge of putting together and sending out the final animated scenes.

Responsibilities:

• Touching up, smoothing out, and painting digitally to finish composites as final frames and/or illustrations.
• As needed, attend daily reviews and sequence launches.
• As needed, attend director review meetings.
• Follow the director’s vision and talk to other team members about creative solutions
• Help come up with ways to make the necessary layers and mats using the right compositing software and clear documentation.

Requirements:

• The ability to touch up and paint digitally.
• I know a lot about and have a lot of experience with Maya and Nuke.
• Good skills with Photoshop and After Effects.
• Strong understanding of mattes, cryptomattes, and the finishing layers that are needed.
• Able to use commercial and custom lighting, rendering, and compositing tools on their own.
• B.A. or B.S. in Animation or a related field is preferred.
• It would be a plus to know how to use Houdini and have experience with effects and FX.

This job in Remote pays between $50 and $55 per hour. The actual base pay offered is based on the minimum wage from the pay scale agreed to in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. It may also vary based on the candidate’s location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other things.
