Responsibilities:

A good candidate for the Last Mile Claims team should be enthusiastic about pushing change, love working hard, and be open to ongoing challenges. They should also support and report to a Senior Risk Manager. The following duties are possible, but are not restricted to:

  • Claims management for litigated claims involving moderate to complex bodily injury.
  • Work with business units to put measures in place that will limit complex, expensive claims and keep costs in check.
  • Together with internal and external counsel, TPAs, and insurance carriers, develop a strategy and action plans for claims.
  • Attendance at mediations and settlement strategies in collaboration with internal and external legal partners, insurance providers, and TPAs.
  • Respond to ongoing inquiries and problems from business partners by filing claims as necessary.
  • Partner with internal teams to implement safety measures that proactively prevent claims.
  • Check to make sure the TPA handles claims with care, collaborates with risk management and legal teams (internal and external), and uses best practices to keep claim expenses in check.
  • Manage logistical difficult claims, build and improve claims procedures, and offer training as required.
  • Direct claim reviews and ensure Performance Guarantee and KPI consistency.
  • Provide internal business teams, such as logistics and Amazon’s captive insurance program, with reports on business indicators.
  • Collaborate with and oversee outside vendors and partners on creative claims processing and initiatives that promote simplicity, control costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively inform internal leadership teams and cross-functional teams about proposed risk reduction techniques.
  • Manage and offer advice on projects involving delivery service providers, other logistics initiatives, and global corporate auto exposures.
  • Utilize analytics, data, and benchmarking from a variety of sources to assess loss trends.
  • To promote an honest, pro-active, and efficient risk management culture, offer direction and help for loss prevention issues.
  • Assist in creating business plans and case studies for senior leaders’ presentations.
  • Collaborate with other teams to share ideas, drive change, and complete projects.

Essential job duties

Requirements:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Five or more years of expertise deciding on moderately to complex bodily harm claims
  • 3+ years of experience managing transportation claims, especially major car claim programs or fleets.
    Knowledge of the litigation process and claims management from inception to resolution is required, along with an active adjuster license.

FAVORABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Strong knowledge of business auto insurance policies. Understanding and practical expertise with complex logistics claims. ARM, CPCU, or comparable designation.
