Data Engineer – Robert Half Remote Jobs

Our client wants to add a Data Engineer to the team for a project that will last at least 6 months. This is a job that can be done from anywhere in the US.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and putting in place functions for transforming, ingesting, and organizing data on the GCP (Google Cloud Platform) cloud using either native GCP programming or custom programming.
• Using Java, Python, etc., to design and build production data pipelines from data ingestion to data use in a hybrid big data architecture.
• Doing detailed assessments of the data platforms in their current state and making a good plan for moving to the GCP cloud.
• Using GCP and third-party services, we are analyzing, re-architecting, and re-platforming on-premise data warehouses into data platforms on the GCP cloud.
• Optimizing data pipelines for performance and cost for large scale data lakes.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience with the Google Cloud Platform stack, including big query, cloud functions, pubsub, CI/CD automation, GitHub, and Terraform for building and deploying infrastructure.
• Modeling data and having experience with Python.
