Responsibilities:
- Creates and implements creative content in close collaboration with show producers and CCU leadership to improve the presentation of our top priority broadcasts.
- Maintains effective working relationships with a variety of production and technical staff, including but not limited to CPs, Producers, Directors, ADs, Editors, Creative Designers, ESPN’s Music Department, and Talent, to ensure that content is delivered to the air accurately and quickly.
- From concept development through post production execution, responsible for live events and studio shows’ tease, look, branding, and related post production aspects.
- The creation of teasers, sales features, promotions, essays, roll-outs, and unique animated elements for a given sports program.
- Performs editorial knowledge application and sports information research for tasks.
- Closely collaborates with writers on the VO screenplay, provides criticism, and has the talent to oversee VO sessions.
- Can carry out production tasks both inside and externally to the ESPN production facilities.
- Able to successfully communicate within edit teams and as part of routine input from the accountable Coordinating Producers, Managers, Producer(s) of CCU, and allocated sport group.
- Knowledge of submitting concept pitches for teasers or other post-production features.
- Possesses practical understanding of the DA system, NCS VTL, EARS, GETTY, and other tools for acquiring media for editing.
- Possesses knowledge of all in-house post-production editing programs, including Quantel, Premier, Avid, and AfterFX.
- Able to demonstrate great skills in shot selection, soundtrack choosing, montage editing & short-form narrative.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to work together in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Skilled at using post-production elements (music, VO, SOT, graphics, sound design, etc.) to improve narratives.
- The capacity to work well in a situation where things change frequently.
- Has practical experience with post-production techniques and technologies.
- 3 years at the very least of production experience in sports.
- Working familiarity with the media procedures related to remote and cloud editing, such as Signiant File Transfers.
- A thorough understanding of sports and sports history.
Preferred credentials:
- Basic skills on edit tools such as Adobe Premier and/or Avid which allow candidate to rough cut portions.
- Knowledge of creating high-end creative elements such as creative teases.
Primary Education:
- Equivalent to a high school diploma.
Education preference:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a university or community college that is accredited.
