Parsley Health is looking for a medical writer with digital media experience to help with newsletter and social media content generation. The ideal applicant has experience writing and editing for health, wellness, and science magazines in addition to studying scientific material to support health and medical content.

This is a contract position that requires a part-time, weekly commitment of between five and ten hours.

Responsibilities:

• two to three hours per week on predetermined subjects supplying citations, data, and summaries
• 1-2 hours a week are spent finding pertinent statements or figures from the top 2-3 health, scientific, and medical studies that are recent or in the news.
• One hour every week is dedicated to revising our CEO and founder Robin Berzin’s newsletter email, which includes formatting, citations, and links.
• one hour every week chatting about this week’s topic with Dr. Berzin and the Parsley Health social media team
• 30 minutes per week are allotted for email production tasks (which includes scheduling release and adding images in Substack, Convert Kit, or Mailchimp).

Requirements:

• two years or more of experience in medical journalism research
• at least two years’ experience writing and editing content for magazines that focus on health, wellness, or science
• Capacity to explain complicated scientific and medical concepts to a broad audience in a clear and straightforward manner
