Position Description

As a Voluntary Claims Lead Examiner for Lincoln Financial Group, you will work independently, processing increasingly complex claims related to Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness, and Accident claims. You will ensure that the claims are settled with integrity, in a timely and fair manner according to company norms. The position is designated for remote working from home, and the company will not provide relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

• Empowers other less experienced Claim Examiners on the team by sharing knowledge, information, and supporting them to perform their assignments
• Reviews and processes increasingly complex assigned claims for payment or denial independently in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meeting departmental quality and production standards
• Monitors the implementation of change and departmental initiatives, ensuring Timely, safe, and effective execution of such initiatives
• Acts as the first point of contact for escalated issues coming into their work group to provide resolution. Escalates issue to their manager when needed.
• Shares a diverse range of knowledge and information and/or enables less experienced team members to perform their assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School or GED qualification and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Claims/Liability Experience in Group Insurance. Or, for candidates with an Associates degree or above, 0-1 year of relevant claims/liability experience
• Ability to take timely decisions independently as per established procedures and guidelines
• Excellent communication – written and verbal – skills to provide information to internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to process progressively complex assigned claims for payment or rejection independently in a timely manner, meeting departmental quality and production standards
• Ability to conduct overtime work as deemed necessary

Pay Range: $41,500 – $74,100 USD Annually

Base salary can vary based on work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications specific to the role. The pay range is only part of the comprehensive benefits package offered by Lincoln Financial Group. Eligibility for the Annual Incentive Program, long-term incentives, and other rewards will also be considered.
