Responsibilities:
In addition to any other activities that are allocated to you as a Utility Attendant regarding the general upkeep and repair of the Distribution Center, you will undertake a wide range of minor maintenance jobs. You’ll assist maintenance mechanics with light mechanical tasks like hand tool maintenance and repair and small floor machine maintenance. You will help maintenance staff in the distribution facility install and remove various pieces of equipment. You are responsible for changing batteries, maintaining battery chargers, keeping battery equipment clean and painted, recording battery changes, and turning in records at shift’s end. You’ll finish simple plumbing projects like fixing faucets and landscape sprinklers as well as basic carpentry tasks like erecting racks, shelving, and repairing workbenches. As necessary, you will clean sumps and drains as well as stopped drains. You’ll carry out various tasks like patching up or replacing small sections of concrete or doing repairs to plaster. Assisting with all tasks pertaining to preventive maintenance programs, such as pest treatment, and maintaining records for these programs will be your responsibility. You’ll use snow removal equipment to clear any paths, roadways, and parking lots as directed. You’ll paint any places that require it and touch up any equipment as necessary. You are responsible for completing all required paperwork, including requisitions for materials, keeping daily work order logs for all projects, cleaning the warehouse with sweepers and scrubbers, removing waste from the building with the help of sizable portable dumpsters, and maintaining the building grounds in a tidy and orderly manner. In order to complete yard cleanup, respond to yard issues, escort vendors, and gather parts and materials as needed, you will drive Target-owned cars. To reduce the risk of accidents to team members throughout the facility, you will always lift objects safely, help clean up spills quickly, and operate all power equipment in a safe manner.

- Possess a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one
- Effective communication skills and the ability to operate both alone and in a team environments
- Employs fundamental math skills correctly
- Able to operate all power equipment and be certified
- Able to utilize maintenance equipment, such as saws and drills.
- Able to read directions, tickets, labels, etc.
- Able to consistently lift and carry up to 47 pounds of goods or equipment, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
- Able to work independently and be self-motivated
