Position Description

Cherry Bekaert is a renowned Accounting and Advisory services provider for the past 70 years. We are seeking a Tax Manager who can manage client’s needs for tax compliance, identify and provide solutions for tax and business-related issues, and capitalize on tax planning opportunities. As a Tax Manager, you will communicate directly with the client and manage essential protocols such as deadlines, deliverables, and their communication. You will oversee and coach less experienced professionals in the team.

Responsibilities

● Solving mid-market clients’ problems in industries such as manufacturing, real estate and construction, and professional services.

● Manage engagements and provide an expert review of complex individual and partnership returns.

● Building and serving partnerships with high net-worth individuals, estate, gift, and trust tax planning and compliance needs.

● Required project management skills for complex documentation procedures, analytical, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

● Demonstrating superior client service skills to manage tax staff and seniors in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

● A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a Master’s degree being preferred.

● A CPA certification with an active CPA license is a must.

● Must have at least 5 years of experience in public accounting out of which 2 years should have been in a management position.

● Solid background and understanding of S /C corporations, LLC’s, and Partnerships.

● Clearly demonstrated experience owning pass-through entity taxation, particularly with partnerships.

● Preferred partnership experience includes entity structuring, operating agreement review and consultation, compliance, allocations, partner transactions, and related matters.

● Experience with complex individual and estate tax compliance and planning would be a plus.
