Responsibilities:

• Leads and directs crew chiefs in terminal and/or hangar aircraft maintenance
• Controls how the organization’s plans, processes, rules, and procedures are put into action
• Ensures that workers are used effectively to complete the operation’s workload
• Complies with company norms and procedures and meets company objectives
• Accountable for the workforce’s timely and thorough communication flow
• Upholds productive working ties with airport administration, the FAA, the TSA, other governmental organizations, vendors, and similar institutions.
• Collaborates with other managers to carry out instructions and goals
• Identifies problems with results and takes action to fix them
• Identifies the AMTs under your control’s training and development needs
• Gives crew chief and lead coaching/development effective feedback
• Effectively collaborates with the employees and union leadership

Requirements:

Minimum requirements include education and previous work experience.

• Equivalent to a high school diploma or GED
• 3–4 years of experience in aircraft repair
• Certificate for FAA Airframe & Powerplant
• To be eligible for unaccompanied access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), one must pass criminal background checks conducted by the FAA.
• Must be able to obtain the necessary security badges from the airport administration and/or US Customs, if necessary.

Prior work experience and education are preferred qualifications.

• A technical or business-related associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree, or comparable work experience
• 2 years of successful management experience in production and/or maintenance settings
• 3 years of practical expertise in the maintenance, production, or repair of large transport aircraft

Knowledge, Permits, and Certifications

• Understanding of a functional area
• Having familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• The capacity to lead work teams made up of management, non-management, and contract labor
• The capacity to manage numerous tasks at once
• Strong computer and interpersonal abilities
• The capacity to simultaneously supervise several areas of duty
