  • Direct supervision of planners regarding corporate policies and procedures is your responsibility. maintains an executable bill of work while taking into consideration critical and out-of-service aircraft by working in coordination with the maintenance, maintenance control, material planning, and other technical operation departments. Additionally, this role makes sure that planners are managing station needs and anticipated workload needs efficiently to avoid unplanned outages.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the Planner is accountable for their tasks, responsibilities, and actions to identify, discuss, and resolve problems in the region by providing leadership, direction, and training.
  • Helps to define the departments’ strategy, goals, objectives, and requirements.
  • Ensures that planners are selecting the most practical actions, such as:
  • Encourages the effective implementation of the aircraft maintenance program, serviceability, and airworthiness
  • In charge of employee schedules
  • Manages OSHA Occupational Injury Reports, overtime, and sick and vacation time
  • Maintains records and a program.
  • Crew meetings are used to notify staff members of any procedure changes and to deliver information relevant to their work.
  • Responsible for recommending and/or implementing work simplification systems and providing employees with on-the-job training
  • Responsible for overseeing the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Encourages harmonies in the department’s working relationships
  • Controls the workers
  • Assesses performance and offers criticism
  • Throughout their probationary period, all new workers are given probationary progress reports to let them know how they’re doing.

Requirements:

Minimum requirements include education and previous work experience.

  • 3 years of experience in the field of aircraft maintenance planning, or an equivalent combination of training and experience with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Preferred qualifications.

  • 3 years of experience working in an area where aircraft are operated

Skills, licenses, and certifications

  • Practical experience with maintenance planning systems (SCEPTRE, AMPS)
  • Being able to use and navigate AA Web-based platforms (ASOM, AMPS, SAFE, APC)
  • The capacity to cooperate with personnel covered by a collective bargaining agreement
  • Ability to manage several tasks concurrently in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment Excellent problem-solving abilities Must be able to work in difficult settings during peak operations Understanding of current Maintenance processes, particularly MEL and Deferral process
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts (day, night, weekend, and holiday) in a setting that is open around-the-clock.
