Responsibilities:

As an engineer on the Safari & Webkit QA team, you will be directly in charge of scheduling Safari updates with program managers, reviewing and improving the current release process, configuring the run system, resolving build difficulties, and collaborating with the right teams to obtain prompt resolution. You will also work with multi-functional teams to advance/improve Apple’s integration and release process, as well as assist in the development of tools to increase the productivity of the development and QA teams. Your strategic objectives will be to identify and automate operational duties, scale up our processes, and find and close any process gaps that might aid in the release process or improve the effectiveness of QA.

Requirements:

Key Requirements

  • Experience in release engineering and/or configuration management (DevOps, SRE, SDET, SWE) of at least two years
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of collaborating with technical and project management teams, which calls for exceptional coordination and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of deployment, configuration, and administration processes for servers and systems
  • Proficiency in testing, problem-solving, and debugging techniques
  • Knowledge of release engineering, branching techniques, pull requests, git workflows, and SCM systems (git is desired).
  • Possess a strong desire to build programs and systems that, whenever possible, automate tasks.
  • Develop your critical thinking abilities by coming up with several solutions to a problem, weighing trade-offs, and selecting the best course of action.
  • Learn independently, have a strong sense of curiosity, and know when to seek assistance.
  • Must feel at ease working in a dynamic, collaborative setting and thrive there.

Knowledge & Experience

  • A BS in computer science, a closely related discipline, or an equivalent degree.
