The Senior Software Development Engineer will be in charge of developing cutting-edge features for the native iOS and Android applications that support the customer-facing mobile platform of Virgin Atlantic and Delta Airlines. With an emphasis on reusability, dependability, and quality, the next team member in this field will collaborate with their team and matrix teams to develop the technological solutions that build automated, resilient systems and guarantee the flawless delivery of our solutions. In order to create the best possible customer experience in the industry, this senior software development engineer will collaborate closely with peers in the IT department and even more so with the squad team members. They will also work closely with the technical architects on the team and throughout the business.

Requirements:

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO SUCCEED?

Proficiency in the following is necessary:

  • Java 8 onwards, Typescript and NodeJS
  • Constructing and managing serverless setups, microservices, and containers on AWS
  • Amazon CDK
  • Developing for dependable serverless lambdas in multiple active AWS regions
  • AWS Athena, AWS Kinetics, and AWS glue
  • WatchCloud Insights
  • Development Based on Tests
  • Creating SLAs and SLOs to track requirements
  • Developing highly secure lambdas to manage PCI and PII data
  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or engineering, or any comparable background in the field of computer systems development in terms of education, training, or experience.
  • While not necessary, prior airline experience is beneficial.
  • Communication Skills: The capacity to successfully engage in both formal and informal communication, talk and write in a way that is clear and understandable for the audience, and interact verbally and in writing with all levels of staff members and management.

  • Possesses the legal right to work in the US and is at least 18 years old.
