For our global clients and partners, our Solutions Architects team is looking for applicants with a range of expertise to help develop and execute our cloud strategy. As a solution architect leader, you will play a key role in assisting customers in leveraging Amazon technologies to succeed, connecting technology with quantifiable business value for start-ups as well as large, enterprise customers. As a dependable client advocate, you will assist our partners in understanding cutting-edge cloud-based solutions and how to transfer current workloads to the cloud.

You must be technically competent, credible in your own right, and effective in developing your team’s customer- and solutions-focused talents if you want to succeed in this position. To encourage coworkers and clients to accept and implement new technology, we are searching for leaders that enjoy learning about and introducing new technologies. We require creative leaders who can see beyond the technology to assess the value that it provides for our clients and who can influence how others perceive our technology. This is essential to the position. You’ll support team members’ AWS onboarding and assist them improve their communication, writing, presentation, and executive engagement skills. As well as representing your team to executive management, you will also need to be skilled at collaborating, interacting, and communicating with other departments within Amazon, such as our services teams, marketing teams, and professional services teams.

Responsibilities:
- Make ensuring that the development and migration of applications, software, and services onto the AWS platform is successful as a vital part of the business development and sales management teams.
- Take on new Solutions Architects from both internal and external sources and hire, train, and develop them.
- Customers should be informed about the value that AWS offers, and strong relationships should be established with decision-makers inside of customer accounts so that they may act as “Cloud advocates.”
- Gather and distribute knowledge about best practices across the community of AWS solutions architects.
- Whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer-facing best practices should be influenced and encouraged to be developed. serve as a conduit and interface between the support staff and the service engineering teams.

Requirements:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of distributed application design, implementation, and consulting expertise
- 3+ years of experience managing technical, client-facing resources
- 5+ years of experience in network architecture, database architecture, and infrastructure architecture
- Computer science or a related field, BA/BS
FAVORABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Practical knowledge of software development
- Working familiarity with the processes and tools used in software development
- Successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with significant clients or businesses in the past
- Understanding of converting or moving traditional customer products to the cloud
- Familiarity with typical enterprise products (such as Oracle, SAP), services (such as Directory Services, Information Assurance, Virtual Desktop, etc.), and frameworks (ITIL, TOGAF, etc.)
- professional background designing/running AWS-based solutions
- High level of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and developers while displaying presenting skills.
- Extremely comfortable effective internal and external organization communication
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing
- Meets or exceeds Amazon’s requirements for this role’s leadership principles.
- Meets or exceeds the functional/technical complexity standards set by Amazon for this role

Our pay is in line with the cost of labor in different US regions. In our lowest geographic area, the base salary for this position is $160,800 per year, whereas in our top geographic region, it is $312,800 per year. Compensation is based on a number of variables, including market location, and may change in accordance with knowledge, abilities, and experience pertinent to the position. Amazon is a corporation that offers entire rewards. In addition to a broad array of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, the position offered may also include equity, sign-on payments, and other kinds of remuneration as part of the entire compensation package.
