Position Description

Responsibilities

As a Senior Financial Engineer, the candidate’s responsibilities will include supporting the team by conducting financial analysis or forecasting, analyzing large amounts of data efficiently, and developing models or prototypes to enable the team to achieve their goals. The candidate will review business assumptions and analyze model performance data for key financial and underwriting models across the company. They will develop analytical capabilities to support risk measurement, financial valuation, decision-making, and business performance for the coverage area. Additionally, the candidate will design data visualizations and non-technical presentation materials to communicate new ideas and high-impact solutions to business partners.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, the candidate must have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in single-family mortgage credit risk analytics, experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts, and answer critical questions. The candidate should also be skilled in R or Python programming, Tableau, SQL, Excel, BI tools, and graphical representation of information in the form of charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards. Additionally, it is preferred that the candidate has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, economics, statistics, or mathematics, knowledge of frameworks and concepts of risk management, financial models, forecasts, automated underwriting engines, and regulatory capital, economic capital, and stress testing experience.
