- This position is part of the Engineering Team in the Integrated Operations Division.
- Engineers are responsible for providing support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. This position also establishes and assists in the maintenance of aircraft and component standards within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Salary range: $75,457.72 to $103,512.76
Responsibilities:
- Engineers are trained in their area(s) of expertise
- Engineers are mentored by him.
- In the course of project management or problem resolution, acts as team leader/coordinator.
- As needed, coordinates with manufacturers and regulatory authorities to ensure that Engineering dispositions are properly substantiated in accordance with applicable regulations and Company manuals.
- Customized procedures and special criteria are developed for repairs, modifications, inspections, servicing, and other maintenance actions that are not adequately addressed in existing manuals.
- Maintains current knowledge of day-to-day airline operations involving the field of responsibility. Examines daily priorities in light of airline/departmental goals and management directives
- Investigates aircraft/component problems that may result in aircraft delays or cancellations, significant manpower or material expenditures, or interruptions in maintenance operations, and determines appropriate corrective actions.
- As needed, provides engineering support for the resolution of anomalous conditions affecting aircraft or components in order to restore serviceability.
- Responds to requests for technical assistance from Maintenance and other airline departments when it is needed to support projects or solve problems.
- Creates action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or component engineering projects, then pursues final dispositions based on assessed priorities.
- Coordinates with other airline departments as needed to ensure that engineering dispositions are implemented effectively and efficiently.
- Prepares engineering documents to put technical dispositions into action by providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance actions that provide benefits in accordance with airline/departmental objectives and management directives.
- Maintains knowledge of current and pending regulations affecting areas of responsibility, and ensures that all Engineering actions comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Uses available resources to continuously improve technical expertise and practical experience. Also works to improve communication skills, time management, and other personal qualities necessary for maximum effectiveness and efficiency in carrying out assigned duties.
- Actively interacts with both front-line team members and leadership.
Requirements:
Education and prior job experience are required as minimum qualifications.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related Engineering license
- 6 years of related engineering experience or 10 years of experience without a degree
- Education and prior job experience are preferred qualifications.
Preferred qualifications: Engineering Master’s Degree, Licenses, and Certifications
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- A&P certification
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
