Position Description

Vaco is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer who can work remotely and demonstrate their infrastructure automation skills in cloud platforms and CI/CD. The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a vital role in our organization by designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. The position calls for documentation and other team communication, and the applicant must be passionate, trainable, ambitious, good at communication, and coachable.

Responsibilities

– Develop and implement robust and scalable infrastructure automation solutions using industry-leading tools.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and optimize cloud infrastructure architectures for high availability, security, and high performance.
– Create and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
– Constant monitoring of system performance and optimizing system scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
– Ability to diagnose and fix infrastructure issues.
– Continuously keep up with the newest DevOps tools, technologies, and trends and make sure to enhance our infrastructure and processes through effective communication.

Qualifications

– Possess five years of experience in the DevOps field or a related occupation.
– Proven proficiency in infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
– Strong practical knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, including services like EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC.
– Ability to use scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and have proficiency in at least one programming language (C#, Java, etc.).
– Strong expertise with Kubernetes and Docker, including deployment and orchestration.
– Solid understanding of CI/CD principles.
– Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Grafana) to ensure system health and performance.
– Excellent problem-solving skills in analyzing complex systems and troubleshoot issues.
– Effective communication and collaboration skills in a remote team environment.

Preferred

Qualifications

– Have any relevant certifications in the cloud platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
– Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks like Azure Resource Manager or AWS CloudFormation.
– Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet.
